Holdin’ On – For Dear Life!

October 5th, 2015 by Trey

Y’all wanna see something funny? Check out this video of us performing on the Victory Casino Cruise – in 6-foot seas. Marvel at the fact that we made it through the whole song! Wonder at the devotion of Seth’s wife Jeanne as she holds our remaining speaker to keep it from falling over!

The first set was a struggle but we had a good time. I love watching Kurt and Jeff lurch around but maintain their smiles. Me? I just sat my old ass down in a chair and left the balancing act to the surfers and the skater. :)

Victory Casino Cruises

September 27th, 2015 by Trey

We played the cruise out of Jacksonville last weekend, and it was a heck of a trip! Rough seas might have thrown us around the stage… and knocked over the PA… and the drums… but the band played on. :)

Pidjin will be playing the Victory Casino Cruise out of Cape Canaveral on Oct 16. Y’all come aboard and cruise with us!

Recording proceeds and the pace is picking up. We’re taking a little break from gigging as much to focus on getting the recordings done. It’s a lot of work but the tracks are sounding great. Getting there is half the fun…

Sandbar tomorrow night and recording proceeds

August 21st, 2015 by Trey

Y’all come on down to the Sandbar in Cocoa Beach, at the corner of 520 and A1A. Check out Vintage crankin’ their take on classic rock in the afternoon and Pidjin rockin’ our stuff from 9-1. We’ll also be on the Victory Casino gambling boat out of Jax on Sat Sep 19 and at the Cocoa Beach street party (at Coconuts on the beach) on Sunday Sep 20 at 2pm.

Drum tracks are done! Bass parts and guitar parts are starting to build up. Gotta get Jeff and Kurt in the studio and playin’ off each other, then Seth and vocals… and then once we have the songs down the way we do them live, we get creative. :)

Jams at rehearsal last night.

Drums done! Well, almost. I think. I hope! :)

We had a GREAT gig Friday night at the Dog n Bone – thanks to all the friendly folks who screamed at the end (and sometimes the beginning!) of our songs… all except for the guy screaming “Freebird”, of course. “Freebird”? Really? Is that still a thing? Why do a certain group of young men think it’s somehow compelling to yell for that song? Are they even asking for that song? Have they even HEARD that song, or is it just a “thing” to scream Freebird? Should we LEARN Freebird just to make them wet their pants? I dunno, you tell me. Personally, I enjoy screaming “Beethoven’s 9th!” at shows.

Many thanks to Thunderfolk for coming down from Atlanta and jammin’ a show with us. Looking forward to more shows with them here and shows with them up in Hotlanta.

Recording the album moves onwards. We’ve got drum tracks for all the songs, plus a few bits here and there we weren’t expecting but might make the record as well. Exciting stuff. Might need to re-do something once we start laying other tracks on but the tracks I’ve gone over with a microscope so far are sounding goooood. Ryan is an amazing studio musician.

And now! It’s my turn… Engineer! Wonder-Musician Powers activate! Form of… a Bass Player!

Testing this rig out today. Wish me luck. :)

ps – here’s us doing They Would Try from Friday night at DnB. Enjoy.

Gig tonight at Paddy Cassidy’s

June 27th, 2015 by Trey

Y’all come on down to Cocoa Beach and rock out with us at Paddy Cassidy’s, the finest little Irish pub this side of the Indian River!

Recording moves forward – tracking drums whenever we can get Jeff and Ryan and me together, in between work and moving friends and taking care of chilruns and playing gigs and… you know… sleep. :)

Recording moves ahead

The house is a jumble of wires and gear – but tracks are being laid. Heh heh. Laid.

Further up and further in…
